Press release: Introducing the North Channel Swimming Association

October 22, 2018.
The North Channel Swimming Association has been formed by Quinton Nelson, Mark Hamilton, Maggie Gibson and Antonio Arguelles.
With the rapid increase in the number of swimmers wishing to complete the North Channel swim, one of the most challenging in the Oceans Seven, the Association will offer an outstanding service by dealing directly with the swimmer from initial contact to hopeful completion. This includes advising on boats with experienced crew and captains and trained and experienced observers. Moreover, the Association can provide guidance and advice from a qualified open water coach should this be requested.

Having vast experience with North Channel swims, the Association and its members understand how much time, effort and commitment goes into any attempt. For this reason, the Association is committed to making the swim’s logistics as straightforward as possible. Furthermore, in order to ensure that all of the swimmer’s needs are fulfilled. As a result, the Association is a fantastic option for any swimmer seeking to complete the challenge.

The North Channel Swimming Association is also honoured to announce that, given our mission and experience with open water swimmers in the North Channel, the World Open Water Swimming Association (WOWSA) has recognised the Association and will accept ratified swims carried out in accordance with the published guidelines.

We look forward to welcoming swimmers from around the world and promoting open water swimming in the North Channel.
